RFA Patriots WR Brian Tyms tweets good bye

New England free agent receiver sounds like he’s moving on.

After finishing last season on injured reserve due to a torn Achilles suffered in training camp, wide receiver Brian Tyms was scheduled to be a restricted free agent this spring.

On Wednesday, following a series of tweets showing his rehab process with impressive running on a treadmill, Tyms took to Twitter to thank Patriots Nation for his time in New England, which has apparently come to an end.

If that's true, and there is really no better source than the player himself, Tyms Patriots career ends after two years, five receptions and one touchdown – a 43-yard score in Buffalo in his New England debut in October 2014.

The 6-3, 205-pound former undrafted rookie out of Florida A&M also has spent time with the Browns, Dolphins and 49ers, where he rubbed elbows with his football hero, Randy Moss.

Tyms had seemed to be very much in the wide receiver mix last summer prior to his injury. He was getting significant reps in training camp, at times appearing to be ahead of Aaron Dobson on the depth chart. But the Achilles injury derailed his season and, apparently, his career in Foxborough, as the 27 year old will have to try to continue what's been a bumpy football career elsewhere.
