FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today that they have released DL Terrance Knighton and OL Bryan Stork. In addition, the Patriots have placed G Tre' Jackson on the Reserve/PUP List. 

Knighton, 30, a veteran of seven NFL seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2009-12), Denver Broncos (2013-14) and the Washington Redskins (2015), was signed by the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent from Washington on April 4, 2016. The 6-foot-3, 355-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a third-round draft pick (72nd overall) by Jacksonville out of Temple. He signed with Denver as an unrestricted free agent in 2013 and with Washington as an unrestricted free agent in 2015. Knighton has played in 108 NFL games with 96 starts and has 230 total tackles, 14 sacks, two interceptions, 11 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He has also started in five postseason games, including Super Bowl XLVIII with Denver, and has notched 12 total tackles and one sack. Last season with Washington, Knighton started in all 15 regular-season games that he played and registered 29 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks. He also made one start in the postseason, finishing with one tackle. 

Stork, 25, originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round draft pick (105th overall) by the Patriots out of Florida State in the 2014 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder, has played in 21 games with 17 starts in the regular season and four starts in the postseason. As a rookie in 2014, he played in 13 games with 11 starts at center and started in two postseason games at center, including Super Bowl XLIX vs. Seattle. Last season, he was limited to just eight regular-season games with six starts in the regular season. He started five games at center and one at right tackle. Stork started both of the 2015 postseason games at center.
