FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have signed eight players to the practice squad: OL Chris Barker, OL Clay DeBord (duh-BOARD), DL Geneo Grissom, DL Woodrow Hamilton, LB Rufus Johnson, WR Devin Lucien, RB Bishop Sankey and WR Devin Street.
All of those players except DeBord, Sankey and Street were with the team for training camp.
DeBord, 24, was signed by the Arizona Cardinals as a rookie free agent out of Eastern Washington on May 2, 2016. The 6-foot-6, 305-pounder, was released by Arizona on Aug. 29, 2016. He made a school-record 51 starts at left tackle during his college career.
Sankey, 23, originally entered the NFL as a second-round draft pick (54th overall) of the Tennessee Titans out of Washington in the 2014 NFL Draft. The 5-10, 209-pounder, was released by Tennessee Sept. 2, 2016. In two seasons with Tennessee, Sankey played in 29 games with 12 starts and finished with 199 rushing attempts for 762 yards with three touchdowns and added 32 receptions for 272 yards and one touchdown.
Street, 25, is a veteran of two NFL seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder, was drafted by Dallas in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. He was released by Dallas on Sept. 3, 2016. In two NFL seasons, Street played in 31 games with two starts and caught nine passes for 132 yards with one touchdown.
