March Madness can bring out school pride in its purest forms, and with your Patriots alma maters well represented in the initial bracket, players were of course cheering on their teams.

Though some of their teams have since been eliminated, players hit social media to show support for their alma maters.

Julian Edelman's Kent State was seeded No. 14 in the South and went up against No. 3 UCLA. Even though the Golden Flashes ultimately lost in the first round, Julian's sage advice to believe was held in high regard.

James White's Wisconsin Badgers toppled Villanova on Saturday and the running back showed his alma mater and senior standout Nigel Hayes some love.

According to Rob Ninkovich's social media, he has been a bit torn this March. Rob didn't go to Villanova, but that didn't stop him from sharing Ross Ventrone's hilarious hype video on Instagram.

But when it came down to it, he showed allegiance to his alma mater Purdue as the team moved past Iowa State.

Of course, his teammates weren't quick to let that flip-flop slide. Devin McCourty called Rob out with a jokingly savage tweet.

Though D-Mac's Rutgers wasn't in the big dance this year, he was cheering on a New England school that has New Jersey ties.

With the Sweet 16 just around the corner, things are about to get even crazier. Check out what Patriots alma maters are represented March Madness here
