FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Earlier this week, Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft presented Tom Brady with the jerseys he wore in Super Bowl XLIX and Super Bowl LI. Both jerseys had been stolen and recently retrieved by the FBI and returned to Robert Kraft at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough last month. Beginning this weekend, fans visiting The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon will now be able to view one of those jerseys, as Brady's grass-stained Super Bowl XLIX jersey will be on display starting Saturday.
Brady set five Super Bowl records and tied two more in Super Bowl XLIX. He extended his own Super Bowl records for most career passes (247), most career completions (164) and most career passing yards (1,605). He set new records for most completions in a game (37) and most career touchdown passes (13). He tied Super Bowl records for most games played (6), most Super Bowl wins by a quarterback (4) and most Super Bowl MVP awards (3). Brady would later go on to break all of these records in Super Bowl LI.
Brady's historic Super Bowl XLIX performance was also heroic. Trailing 24-14 in the fourth quarter, Brady was near perfect in leading the Patriots to a 28-24 comeback victory. He completed 13-of-15 passes in the final quarter for 124 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score – a 3-yard touchdown pass to Julian Edelman – with 2:06 to play. Brady's fourth quarter passer rating was 140.7. He finished the game 37-of-50 for 328 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions.
The game-winning drive was Brady's ninth in the postseason, an NFL record, including his fourth in the Super Bowl. The comeback was Brady's sixth in the postseason, breaking Joe Montana's record.
