It's hard to catch Julian Edelman when he's running routes on the field. He sprints and cuts with the best of them, and this weekend Julian got to even faster all while giving his feet a break.
Julian was on hand for IndyCar's Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and got a chance to hop in for a ride alongside Mario Andretti. Julian rocked a different kind of his signature red gloves to the race track, which helped him feel right at home. Mario whipped around corners and flew down the course, and Julian managed to keep it as cool as he does on the field.
Before the race, Julian made the rounds to meet drivers like Conor Daly and Alexander Rossi. He even autographed Conor's shoe, and Conor joked the shoes will be officially retired.
After a day of hanging with top tier drivers and hitting the track, it's safe to say Julian walked away with a new respect for the sport.
"That was awesome. I mean it was fun. I had a blast," Julian said. "I want to go start racing now. I think I chose the wrong sport."
No offense, Jules, but we're still happy you picked football.
