Play Like a Girl

Play Like a Girl

Play Like a Girl!® is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded on the belief that girls given the opportunity to play on a team become women with the confidence to stand on their own. To accomplish this vision, we are on a mission to level the playing field for girls by leveraging the skills gained from sport to help propel young women into competitive, male-dominated careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Play Like a Girl harnesses the collective power of women volunteers and male allies to unite around gender inequality and the critical role they play in inspiring the next generation of women leaders.

The Women’s Foundation of Boston

The Women's Foundation of Boston

The Women's Foundation of Boston economically empowers women and girls in Greater Boston and across the Commonwealth through creating and funding high impact leadership and economic programs in partnership with women's and girls' nonprofits. To address the massive underinvestment in women and girls-serving nonprofits (only 1.4% in MA), we support projects that promote the economic advancement, leadership, and well-being of women and girls across Massachusetts. Since our first grant in 2018, we have committed over $8.5M in grants to support 112 programs across the state, positively impacting over 20,000 women and girls, in education, leadership and mentoring, and financial literacy and career development.

Patriots Girls High School Flag Football

Patriots Girls High School Flag Football

In 2023, the New England Patriots helped launch the first ever girls high school flag football league in eight Massachusetts high schools. That number nearly tripled to 23 teams in 2024, and we look forward to watching this sport continue to grow. Flag football is far more than just a sport; it cultivates teamwork, leadership, discipline, and confidence. We have seen firsthand how this game offers a supportive and inclusive environment where young women can push themselves, build valuable skills, and form meaningful relationships.
