The NFL High School Football Coach of the Week program honors high school football coaches and their teams each week throughout the season. The program is designed to recognize high school coaches who, through their hard work and dedication to young athletes, create successful football teams and players both on and off the field. Each week during the high school football season, Pro Football, College Football and Patriots Hall of Famer Andre Tippett makes a special visit to one high school to congratulate the coach and team on their award. Each school receives a grant to help maintain and support their football programs.
MIAA Football Championship
The New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium annually host the MIAA State Football Championships on the Patriots home turf. The MIAA State Football Championships are a culmination of more than 100 playoff football games across the state over a four-week span. Adding to the excitement of the state championships there will be thousands of cheering fans, cheerleaders and school bands. The participating schools and their fans will also be treated to an NFL-caliber game presentation with music and replays on the stadium's high-definition video boards.
Catholic Memorial Field Dedication
LISC and The Patriots Foundation took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the opening of the new field. Patriots Andre Tippett, Layden Robinson, and Terrell Jennings visited Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury on Tuesday, October 22nd to show support and advocacy towards the school. Administration, coaches, Patriots players, and seniors of the varsity team sports attended to listen to the speeches given while being able to witness the ribbon cutting first-hand. The new field is the newest part of the O'Connor Stadium, dedicated in honor of longtime football coach, James R. O'Connor.
Through various programs, Nike and the New England Patriots collaborate on ways to promote the game of football among youth athletes at all levels. Initiatives like Nike 11-ON, Nike Next Ones, and more provide beneficial resources to athletes across New England. With these programs athletes receive opportunities to participate in various drills, scrimmages, Nike events, are more.
Andre Tippett and the Patriots Foundation visited Needham High School to name Doug Kopcso as the 2024 New England Patriots Coach of the Year award winner and the Patriots submission for the NFL Don Shula Coach of the Year nomination.
