Pro Football and Patriots Hall of Famers Andre Tippett and John Hannah participated in the Patriots Rhode Island License Plate Kickoff Event on Friday, Jan. 14 at the Warwick Mall. The event marked the first time Patriots Rhode Island license plates were released to the public.

]()The 900 people that had placed preorders were invited to pick up their plate, while the public was welcome to place new orders and learn more about the program and low-number online auctions. Tippett and Hannah also participated in a special presentation ceremony at noon at which the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation make the first three donations to local Rhode Island charities as a result of the license plate program.
The three organizations that received the $2,500 donations were The Da Vinci Center for Community Progress, Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island and Women's Resource Center. In addition, James Carr of H. Carr and Sons presented the foundation with a donation of $35,000, and in thanks the foundation presented Carr with the specialty low-number NE-12 license plate.

]()Hannah and Tippett were on hand during the event which took place from 7-2p.m. where they also greeted fans and signed autographs.
