Bears sign 6th round pick Runnels

The Chicago Bears signed fullback J.D. Runnels, their sixth-round draft choice.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (June 12, 2006) -The Chicago Bears signed fullback J.D. Runnels, their sixth-round draft choice.

Runnels, who played at Oklahoma, is the third Chicago draft pick to sign, joining fifth-rounder Mark Anderson and fellow sixth-rounder Tyler Reed.

Runnels was primarily a blocking fullback during his four-year career with the Sooners, in which he played 53 games and started 20. He had 51 pass receptions for 450 yards and six touchdowns.
