Brady: 'I'll be ready to go Sunday'

Despite missing practice on Thursday with a calf injury, Tom Brady expects to be on the field Sunday in Miami for the season opener against the Dolphins.

Tom Brady missed practice on Thursday with a calf injury.

That absence, as might be expected, sent waves of uncertainty through Patriots Nation just three days before the regular season opener on Sunday in Miami.

But in his weekly appearance on Westwood One radio as part of the network's pregame coverage of the NFL opener in Seattle, Brady did his best to put those fears to rest.

"Physically I had the day off. But I got a lot of extra film in, I got a lot of mental reps in in walk-throughs and such. I'll be ready to go Sunday," Brady declared.

"I mean anything can happen for anybody between now and then, but I'm looking forward to playing Sunday."

While that certainly has to be good news for Patriots fans, it remains worth watching if the calf issue is something that hinders Brady in any way against the Dolphins.
