Every year on Patriots Day, millions of people descend upon the streets of Boston to run 26.2 miles or to cheer on the ones that do. This year on a warm and sunny Marathon Monday, former Patriots and Boston College quarterback Doug Flutie hit the course to complete his third Boston Marathon.
Doug finished the marathon in 4:50.11 and ran for the Flutie Foundation. The nonprofit helps families affected by autism by assisting with access to care, encouraging more active lifestyles and thrive as independent adults.
He reportedly finished this year's marathon 15 minutes faster than when he ran in 2015 and one hour faster than 2014.
Before the race, Doug stopped and took photos with some New England Patriots Charitable Foundation runners. NEPCF had 30 runners racing in the Boston Marathon, and the team raised more than $260,000.
