DraftKings NFL Cheat Sheet: Fantasy Week 13

New England’s defense has held opponents to 17 points or less in seven-straight games, and they’ll look to hold LeSean McCoy and Tyrod Taylor in check this week.

Week 12 of the NFL officially is in the books, and the Patriots kept rolling right along against the Dolphins. Tom Brady ($7,800) racked up 22.68 DKFP on 18-28 passing, four touchdowns and an interception – his fourth game in a row scoring over 20 DKFP. Two of those touchdowns went to Rob Gronkowski ($7,300), as the tight end finished with 25.2 DKFP.

The Patriots will turn their attention to another division rival this week, the Buffalo Bills. Coming off a huge win against the Chiefs, Buffalo presents a tough challenge as the Pats try to win their eighth game in a row. New England's defense ($3,300) has held opponents to 17 points or less in seven-straight games, and they'll look to hold LeSean McCoy ($7,600) and Tyrod Taylor ($5,400) in check this week.

With that said, we now can turn our attention to Week 13, which features a 13-game main slate. Let's jump right into all the info, and as always, you can reach me on the ol' Twitter machine **@SBuchanan24**.

GAME NOTES

Highest Scoring Game

New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills - 49.5 Projected Points

New England will trek to Buffalo on Sunday in a game that opened as the highest projected game of this 13-game slate, with the Patriots also opening with the highest team total at 28.5 points. They'll face a solid Bills defense that's currently allowing 14.7 DKFP to opposing quarterbacks, which ranks ninth in the league. That being said, they'll face Tom Brady, who has scored at least 20 DKFP in his last three games with a 10:1 TD:INT ratio and an average of 277 passing yards. While the Bills have been vulnerable against the run (26 DKFP per game), I'm completely comfortable stacking Brady with a receiver in this game despite the tough matchup on paper.

One overlooked player here could be Tyrod Taylor. Despite the Bills' quarterback controversy, Taylor posted a solid game in Week 12 with 14.02 DKFP against the Chiefs. With the Patriots being particularly vulnerable against opposing offenses, Taylor could be a cheap way to squeeze in some of your other high-salaried players. LeSean McCoy also received a near-$1,000 price drop from Week 12, putting him at $7,600 for the week against a defense that's allowing an average of 24 DKFP to opposing running backs.

Lowest Scoring Game

Denver Broncos vs. Miami Dolphins - 38 Projected Points

Neither team has a projection higher than 20 points, as the Broncos opened as slight favorites. This game doesn't have much appeal for me, as Denver QB Trevor Siemian will battle either Miami's Matt Moore or Jay Cutler. It's worth noting that Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib currently is facing a two-game suspension, although an appeal is on its way. It could end up being a potential upgrade for Dolphins receiver Kenny Stills, whom Talib was projected to line up against. Nonetheless, it's hard to get excited about either team here in such a low projection. Defenses will be the plays to examine here, as Siemian has 10 interceptions through eight games and the Dolphins QBs have combined for 14.

LINEUP QUICK HITS

QB To Build Lineups Around...

Jared Goff ($6,700) -This is a week when you very easily can go cheap. Jets QB Josh McCown is one of my favorite plays of the week, but I'm still a bit on edge to get him in cash. Goff currently ranks as my favorite play in the Rams' matchup against the Cardinals, who allow 19.9 DKFP per game, third highest in the league. Goff averaged 21 DKFP over his last three games - which includes a 9.8 DKFP game against the Vikings - and a 5:1 TD:INT ratio. He proved last week that he's still a very viable option even without his top wideout, Robert Woods.

WR To Pair Him With...

Cooper Kupp ($6,400) -The case can be made for Sammy Watkins in this spot, as he drew nine targets last week in Woods' absence. However, Kupp has been a mainstay in the red zone all season, making him the option to pair with Goff. Kupp has drawn 16 targets inside the 20-yard line and five targets inside the 10, and made 11 catches. Without Woods, Kupp drew a season-high 11 targets and made eight catches for 116 yards. With Woods expected to miss another week, Kupp should be in line for another big game in a favorable matchup.

The Top Running Back Will Be...

Melvin Gordon ($7,400) -After a few disappointing performances, Gordon has a great spot to bounce back. The Chargers opened as huge favorites against the Browns, so Gordon should have plenty of opportunities. While Austin Ekeler's emergence has scared some people off Gordon, Ekeler has carried the ball a combined 12 times while Gordon has 41 carries in the last two weeks. Gordon should be a big part of this offense in Week 13 and be a fine play in all formats.
