Even before they play a preseason game, the Patriots will have a chance to hit someone other than teammates during training camp this year.
New England will host the New York Giants for three practice sessions. The Giants arrive at Bryant College on Aug. 7 for an afternoon practice. The next day they will participate in morning and afternoon workouts with the Patriots. Two days later the teams will play each other in the preseason opener at Foxboro Stadium.
New York will arrive a day before the practice date and will stay in town until after the game. It is the second straight year the teams have scheduled a practice day together. Last year's dual practice/scrimmage scheduled for July 27 at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst facility was canceled because the Patriots had as many as 15 players, including seven offensive linemen banged up and unable to practice.
