HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (Sept. 28, 2005) -- The New York Jets signed Kliff Kingsbury to be their third quarterback.
Kingsbury, taken by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2003 draft, most recently was on the Denver Broncos' practice squad. The Jets were forced to sign another quarterback after Chad Pennington and Jay Fiedler went out for the season with shoulder injuries.
Brooks Bollinger, who was the No. 3 quarterback, will start Oct. 2 at Baltimore. The Jets signed Vinny Testaverde on Sept. 27 as the backup.
