New England middle linebacker Ted Johnson was named the AFC's Defensive "Player of the Week" for the final week (Jan. 5th) of the regular season.
Johnson recorded seven tackles in the Patriots 20-3 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. He also had a career-high two sacks and forced a fumble that was returned for a touchdown by Chad Eaton.
The award was Johnson's first career Player of the Week honor. He is the second Patriots defensive player to win the award, as Willie McGinest did so in the first week of the season.
