FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots released linebacker Justin Kurpeikis from the practice squad.
Kurpeikis, 26, was signed to the practice squad on Oct. 22, after being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers following 2003 training camp. He had spent the last two seasons with the Steelers and had played in nine regular-season games in 2001 and 2002. The Steelers originally signed the 6-foot-3-inch, 254-pound linebacker in 2001 as a rookie free agent out of Penn State.
