DENVER (March 2, 2006) -- Tackle Matt Lepsis signed a four-year contract with the Denver Broncos.
Lepsis is considered a key part of an offensive line that has helped the Broncos rank among the league's top-five rushing teams in five of the last six seasons. The team did not release the terms of the deal.
Lepsis, who is entering his 10th season, signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 1997. He became a starter in 1999 and has appeared in every game since 1998. He was part of the squad that won Super Bowl XXXIII.
Running backs behind the Broncos offensive line, which have included Clinton Portis, Reuben Droughns, Mike Anderson and Tatum Bell, have rushed for 15,819 yards since 1999.
The Broncos' line has given up the fourth-fewest sacks (215) in the league since 1999 and set a franchise record for fewest sacks (15) in 2004.
