Voting for the 2018 Patriots Hall of Fame is in the homestretch, and the candidates (Richard Seymour, Mike Vrabel and Matt Light) are pleading their cases to Patriots fans.
And one candidate had a bit of fun with asking for votes.
Matt Light got some major star-power to throw support behind his cause. Well, kind of.
In a hilarious video posted to Twitter, Matt is casually chopping wood because of course he is. He looks at the camera and says, "Hey Denzel. Matt Light here. Man look, I've been chopping wood all day and since I've retired, I've been looking for inspiration. Man, could you give me inspiration?"
Yes, he means *that *Denzel. *The *Denzel.
The video cuts to Denzel Washington's iconic scene in his 2012 movie, "Flight," and with comedian Corey Rodrigues giving an all-star impression, he launches into a quintessential Denzel monologue full of heart and passion -- about Matt.

"Matt Light asking Denzel Washington for inspiration? He inspires me. Three-time Pro Bowler, three-time Super Bowl champion, and he does great work with the Light Foundation," Denzel (Corey) said. "Who do you know that goes out and chops their own wood? How much money do you have to have to have somebody else chop your wood? Clearly, he doesn't have enough."
The whole video is hilarious and worth a watch.
Whether or not Matt gets voted into the Patriots Hall of Fame, you have to give him points for creativity. Be sure to cast your vote for either Matt, Richard or Mike by May 14.
