The Patriots stumbled to the finish line losing four of their final six games including yesterday's dismal 20-10 defeat at the hands of the lowly Miami Dolphins. In doing so New England lost the top overall seed in the AFC but still managed to earn the No. 2 spot and a bye in the first round.
Perhaps the worst news of all to come out of Miami is the ankle injury Tom Brady suffered in the first half. Afterward the quarterback admitted he was “sore.”
ESPNBoston.com says all was not lost down the stretch and there's still reason for plenty of hope around New England as the playoffs arrive. Despite the optimism, ESPNBoston.com admits the playoffs don’t paint a rosy picture for the Patriots at this point. Health will be the biggest factor for the team moving forward.
Getting back to the Dolphins loss, the game plan certainly is in the crosshairs for many this morning.
CSNNE.com wonders if the Patriots can pull out of this swoon in time for the playoffs. As for Brady's ankle, the quarterback said he’s “had worse.”
