Johnny Manziel to the Patriots?
Stranger things have happened, like Tim Tebow coming to Foxborough for a summer look a few years back. Manziel was in the news on Thursday after conducting a workout in San Diego that featured more than a dozen NFL teams, and reports indicated the former No. 1 pick threw the ball well.
So is he headed to New England as a possible backup candidate? ESPN.com says it’s not crazy to think it could happen but it's unlikely. NBC Sports Boston says the Patriots were one of the team in attendance.
The Patriots added another left tackle candidate into the mix by re-signing LaAdrian Waddle to a one-year deal, keeping the free agent in Foxborough. Special teamer/linebacker Marquis Flowers re-signed as well.
NBC Sports Boston isn't in favor of either of the two major rules proposals that will be reviewed at the owner's meetings next week.
