As is often the case each summer, there was some Patriots-related news on the eve of training camp. Some had to deal with personnel and another item featured a possible trade rumor.

ESPN.com gets things started with the latter as they cite an NFL Network report indicating the Patriots are looking to deal oft-injured wideout Malcolm Mitchell.

The Boston Herald says Mitchell's knee problems remain a major issue and the Providence Journal says the receiver’s season could be in jeopardy.

Continuing the personnel news, the Patriots have placed several players on various lists ahead of Thursday's opening camp practice and made some other roster moves as well.

The Bleacher Report provides a wide-ranging feature on former Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. NBC Sports Boston looks at the report from a Patriots perspective and offers some thoughts.

The Boston Globe's Dan Shaughnessy says the questions surrounding the team will linger because the Patriots never say anything. Might this be the last dance for **Tom Brady** and Bill Belichick?

The Boston Herald says to expect a different but productive offense for the Patriots in the first month of the season.

Elsewhere, ESPN.com continues its roster locks series with a look at tackle while offering some thoughts on the contrasting styles of Trent Brown and Isaiah Wynn. The Boston Globe looks at the receiver position and what each player must do to make the team. NBC Sports Boston says there are a handful of Patriots with something to prove. Boston Sports Journal looks at the offensive and defensive lines. WEEI.com offers an overview of the running backs.

ESPN.com also provides an insider’s look at the league’s quarterbacks, offering five tiers for all of the starters.
