Ben Volin](http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/07/29/patriots-veterans-shine-tuesday-workout/bYsap3HKVAprVN96NwOjON/story.html) of the Boston Globe says that the Patriots veterans shined in Tuesday's practice. Volin says it was a long, physical practice that focused on a lot of 1-on-1 work between offensive and defensive lineman. Volin noted that Edelman and LaFell both had very strong practices while Logan Ryan played well on defense.
MassLive's Duncan Day wrote about LaFell's progression and says that he's still trying to find his place in the Patriots offense. As for Julian Edelman, our own Andy Hart joined Comcast SportsNet's "Sports Tonight" to debate whether #11 can duplicate his impressive 2013 season.
"If he stays healthy," said Andy Hart. "I got to tell you, through the first five days I think he's been the best player on the field in training camp… To me he just looks more confident, more expectant. Big time season, big time contract and not being injured, not trying to win a job."

For more observations from Tuesday's training camp session, check out Mike Reiss' column on ESPN Boston. He took an in depth look at some of the one-on-one battles and also noted the physicality level.
CB Alfonzo Dennard was on the field practicing with his teammates for the first time on Tuesday. NESN's Doug Kyed points out that the team is getting closer to being at full health as Dennard was in full pads and took part in walkthrough drills yesterday. Daxton Swanson also returned to the field after missing two practices because of a death in the family. For more on Dennards return, Comcast SportsNet's Tom Curran, Mike Giardi and Phil Perry break down all the Patriots injury news in Tuesday's 'Greetings from Foxborough'.
In a separate artice, Phil Perry highlighted some one-on-one work between Rob Gronkowski and Darrelle Revis. After practice, Gronkowski said the work with Revis was beneficial.
"He's a good player, and it's good to have him out there. Even though it wasn't full or anything, just him out there shadowing you, running some routes, it's good to get that work in," said Gronkowski. "It's good to have a defender around you so you know what it's like to have a defender right up on you so you're ready when it's time for full speed."
As for Revis, the Patriots new star cornerback had yet another impressive practice on Tuesday. WEEI's Mike Petraglia and Christopher Price discussed Revis' dominating performance thus far in camp.
According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, Justin Jones could be a surprise for the Patriots. He believes that Jones may possibly have a bigger impact on the field than any of the team's nine draft picks. The 6-8 Jones is a huge target in the red zone for Tom Brady and could serve as a nice compliment to Rob Gronkowski.
"Jones, though, has a tremendous opportunity to get his football career back on track with the Patriots," writes Volin. "You can't fake 6-8, and in Jones the Patriots have a huge red zone target and someone who could potentially replicate some of Rob Gronkowski's duties while the star tight end works back slowly from his knee injury."
