NFL Announces Nominees For GMC Never Say Never Moment Of The Week

Fans to vote for winner on NFL.com

THE RAIDERS' overtime victory. DAN ORLOVSKY's game-winning drive. TOM BRADY's rally. These are the three finalists for the GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE WEEK for games played on December 22-26, the NFL announced today.  The GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE WEEK is the best moment or play of the week that represents determination and perseverance.

Fans may vote for one of these three moments on NFL.com/gmc beginning immediately following Monday Night Football and ending on Friday at noon ET to determine the GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE WEEK.  The winner will be announced Friday during NFL Network's "Around the League" show and then posted on NFL.com.

After the regular season, fans will have a chance to determine the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Year, from among the 17 weekly winners.  Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/gmc throughout the month of January.

A closer look at the nominees:

  • Raiders save season in overtime: Kansas City Chiefs kicker RYAN SUCCOP lined up in the game's final seconds for what appeared would be the winning field goal, which would boot the Oakland Raiders out of playoff contention. But Raiders' defensive tackle RICHARD SEYMOUR blocked the kick, forcing overtime, during which kicker SEBASTIAN JANIKOWSKI made a 36-yarder to win it for Oakland. The attempt was set up with a 53-yard pass play from quarterback CARSON PALMER to wide receiver DARRIUS HEYWARD-BEY.
  • Colts rally to beat Texans: When Houston took a 16-12 lead late in the fourth quarter, it appeared as if the Texans would finally get their first-ever win in Indianapolis and move into position for a first-round playoff bye. Instead, the Colts drove down the field to collect their second consecutive win after opening the season 0-13. Quarterback DAN ORLOVSKY led a 12-play, 78-yard touchdown drive for the victory, highlighted by a 34-yard pass to wide receiver REGGIE WAYNE and capped by a touchdown toss from Orlovsky to Wayne.
  • Patriots rally from 17 down: The New England Patriots experienced a frustrating first half of football against the Miami Dolphins, as they on offense as the Dolphins built a 17-0 halftime lead. But the Patriots adjusted, as quarterback TOM BRADY led five second-half scoring drives and the Patriots put up 27 unanswered points to win the game and clinch a first-round playoff bye.
