FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – In advance of the opening of training camp, the New England Patriots announced five recent personnel staff hires and four staff promotions.
Alonzo Highsmith was hired as a senior personnel executive, Casey Belongia joined the staff as an area scout (Midwest), Bob Kronenberg was added as a pro scout and A.J. Richardson and Landon Simpson were named scouting assistants.
In addition, four members of the staff received promotions. Patrick Stewart has been promoted to director of pro personnel, Sam Fioroni has been promoted to assistant director of pro personnel, Marshall Oium has been promoted to director of football strategy and Marquis Dickerson has been promoted to a pro scout.
RECENT PERSONNEL ADDITIONS
Alonzo Highsmith – Highsmith served as general manager of football operations at the University of Miami for two seasons (2022-23). Prior to Miami, he worked as the senior executive advisor to the general manager for the Seattle Seahawks (2020-22), vice president of personnel for the Cleveland Browns (2018-19), and various roles for 19 seasons with the Green Bay Packers (1999-17), including six seasons as a senior personnel executive. He was drafted with the third overall pick in the 1986 NFL Draft and played six seasons in the NFL with Houston, Dallas and Tampa Bay.
Casey Belongia – Belongia joins New England after 10 seasons in the personnel department for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Bob Kronenberg – Kronenberg served as an assistant offensive line coach with Atlanta (2019-20) after serving as an area scout with the Falcons from 2012 through 2018. He also spent time with the Georgia Force and Nashville Katz of the AFL.
A.J. Richardson – Richardson joins New England from the University of Missouri. He played football at Boise State and spent two seasons on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad (2019-20). In 2022, he played wide receiver with the Michigan Panthers of the USFL.
Landon Simpson – Simpson joins New England after spending the last two seasons with the University of Miami as the coordinator of player personnel/head coach recruiting analyst.
PERSONNEL PROMOTIONS
Marquis Dickerson – Dickerson was recently promoted to pro scout after spending the last two seasons as a scouting assistant for the Patriots.
Sam Fioroni – Fioroni enters his fourth season with the Patriots personnel department and was promoted to assistant director of pro personnel after three years as a pro scout. He joined the Patriots after completing his MBA from the University of Notre Dame, where he also worked in the recruiting department. Prior to that, he spent three seasons with Cleveland in various roles in the scouting department.
Marshall Oium – Oium enters his seventh season with the Patriots and was recently promoted to director of football strategy after one season as assistant director of scouting and five seasons as a pro scout. Prior to joining the Patriots, Oium spent time with the Cleveland Browns, including two as a pro scout.
Patrick Stewart – Stewart was promoted to director of pro personnel. He returned to New England in 2023 after spending 11 seasons with the Patriots from 2007 through 2017. Stewart left New England to work as a national scout for Philadelphia (2018-19). He was named the director of player personnel for the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and was promoted to vice president of player personnel in 2021, a position he held for two seasons before returning to the Patriots.
