Patriots sign DB Sterling Moore from the practice squad

The New England Patriots announced today that the team has signed DB Sterling Moore from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. In addition, the Patriots released DT Marcus Harrison.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today that the team has signed DB Sterling Moore from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. In addition, the Patriots released DT Marcus Harrison.

Moore, 5-10, 205 pounds, was originally signed by the Patriots to the practice squad Oct. 5. He originally was signed by the Oakland Raiders as a rookie free agent out of Southern Methodist on July 28, 2011. He was released by the Raiders after training camp and spent the first few weeks on the Oakland practice squad before being released on September 26, 2011.

Harrison, 6-3, 316 pounds, was originally drafted in 2008 by the Chicago Bears in the third round (90th overall) out of Arkansas. He was signed by the Patriots on Oct. 14. Harrison has played in 37 career games over three seasons with the Bears and has 55 tackles and 3.0 sacks.
