Patriots sign DL Woodrow Hamilton to the practice squad

The New England Patriots announced today that they have signed DL Woodrow Hamilton to the practice squad. Hamilton was released from the 53-man roster on Dec. 21, 2016.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today that they have signed DL Woodrow Hamilton to the practice squad. Hamilton was released from the 53-man roster on Dec. 21, 2016.  

Hamilton, 23, was originally signed by New England as a rookie free agent out of Mississippi on May 6, 2016. The 6-foot-3, 315-pounder, was released on Sept. 3, and signed to the practice squad on Sept. 5. He was signed to the 53-man roster on Oct. 8, 2016. Hamilton played in two games with one start and had four solo tackles. He started in his first NFL game at Cleveland on Oct. 9, 2016.
