FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots released second-year offensive tackle Jeff Roehl today.
Roehl, 26, signed with the Patriots on Jan. 6, 2005 and was released prior to the start of the 2005 season (9/3/05). He was re-signed by the team on Jan. 30, 2006 and allocated to the NFL Europe League for its 2006 season.
The 6-foot-4-inch, 300-pound offensive lineman was originally signed by the New York Giants as a non-drafted rookie free agent out of Northwestern in 2003. He was waived by the Giants and claimed by the Seattle Seahawks in June of 2004, but was released prior to the start of that season.
