… A steady, cool drizzle made for a slick practice field for the Patriots today. They donned full pads for the workout, which was held on the Gillette Stadium game surface where Sunday's game against Dallas will be held.
… Another transaction to report today, involving a familiar name and face. Defensive lineman Mike Wright was finally placed on injured reserve due to his recurring concussions. He made a valiant effort to come back to practice last week for a couple of days, but ultimately, the team decided he was just not capable of continuing, at least for this season. His playing future remains in doubt.
… The absentee list grew today from three to four. Linebacker Jerod Mayo (left knee), and safety Josh Barrett (thumb/hamstring) remain out of commission, and joining them Thursday were running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis (toe), who injured himself during yesterday's practice, and defensive lineman Vince Wilfork (unknown). The latter was not on the injury report Wednesday, so, perhaps his absence was not injury related.
… Filling Wright's spot on the active roster, cornerback Phillip Adams re-joined the Patriots after being released just before the Jets game. The second-year man had to go on the 53-man roster, as he is not practice-squad-eligible.
… A recap of today's locker room interviews will appear later on patriots.com.
UPDATE … 4:02 p.m.
Neither Green-Ellis nor Wilfork took part in today's practice, though Wilfork's absence was not injury-related, according to today's injury/practice participation report. Barrett and Mayo were not in attendance, either. Meanwhile, defensive lineman Kyle Love has been added with a back problem. He was limited in today's activity. There were no other changes to yesterday's report. Dallas' injury report was identical to Wednesday's as well. Most notable, QB Tony Romo (ribs) and wide receivers Miles Austin (hammy) and Dez Bryant (thigh) took part fully in the Cowboys' practice down at Valley Ranch.
