… A steady, heavy rain forced the Patriots inside the Dana-Farber Field House for today's practice, which was only a walkthrough. Not surprising, since they were only about 36 hours removed from their Monday night game against Kansas City.
… The linebacker corps is still hurting. Dane Fletcher (thumb), Brandon Spikes (right knee), and rookie Jeff Tarpinian (illness) remain the only Patriots who haven't been able to suit up in practice. None of them took part in practice today.
… LT Matt Light (right ankle), who was injured late against the Chiefs, cornerback Devin McCourty (right shoulder), and safety Patrick Chung (right foot), neither of whom played versus Kansas City, were able to take part in practice. All three were limited
… There merry-go-round of transactions continued today, with safety Ross Ventrone getting the boot (for now) from the active roster and OL Donald Thomas being brought back. Rookie DB Josh Victorian is also back on the practice squad (for now). If I were betting, I'd say Ventrone is back on the team by the time New England gets to Philadelphia on Saturday.
… For his outstanding efforts returning punts (one for a TD) and covering kicks against the Chiefs, wide receiver Julian Edelman was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
… The Patriots will hold practice on Thanksgiving, just like a normal Thursday. Particularly coming off a Monday night affair, they can't afford to take any days off this week, even the holiday.
… Eight other Patriots were limited in walkthrough exercises today: C Dan Connolly (groin), LB Gary Guyton (shoulder), S James Ihedigbo (shoulder), WR Taylor Price (hamstring), WR Matthew Slater (shoulder), OT Sebastian Vollmer (back), WR Wes Welker (knee), and RG Brian Waters (left knee).
… For Philadelphia, QB Michael Vick (ribs), CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (ankle), and WR DeSean Jackson (foot) were noteworthy absences from Eagles practice. WR Jeremy Maclin (hamstring/shoulder) was limited.
