According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Patriots are hosting free agent wide receiver Justin Hunter in Foxborough on Friday.
It would seem the Patriots are intent on adding to the receiving corps, and Hunter is the latest pass catcher to be at least loosely linked to New England. In the past week or so the Patriots have been associated with Brandin Cooks, DeSean Jackson and Kenny Britt among others. Jackson (Tampa Bay) and Britt (Cleveland) have signed elsewhere while Cooks remains a trade possibility.
As for Hunter, the 6-4, 196-pound wideout who has spent time with Buffalo, Miami and Tennessee hasn't lived up to his second-round billing back in 2013. After a promising rookie season in which he averaged nearly 20 yards per catch for the Titans, Hunter has bounced around and lack production.
His best season was 2014 when he caught 28 passes for 498 yards and three touchdowns but was subsequently released prior to the 2016 season. He played one game for Miami before landing with the Bills, where he caught 10 balls for 189 yards and four touchdowns.
