NEW ORLEANS (March 10, 2005) -- The New Orleans Saints signed free-agent tight end Shad Meier to a two-year deal and re-signed defensive tackle Howard Green to a one-year deal.
Meier, a four-year veteran of the Tennessee Titans, provides depth behind starters Ernie Conwell and Boo Williams.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Meier caught a career-high 25 passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns last season while splitting duties with rookie Ben Troupe and Erron Kinney.
Green emerged as a top contributor on the defensive front last season, starting 12 of 14 games and recording a career-high 53 tackles.
