Petty Officer 2nd Class, Andrew R. "Drew" Bibbo, was born on November 12, 1984, in Worcester, Massachusetts, and raised in Clinton, Massachusetts. In 2001, he moved to Milford, and graduated from Milford High School in 2003 before enlisting in the United States Navy in October of the same year.
Drew began his military training in Florida, and earned his wings while in San Diego. A rescue swimmer assigned to the Navy's HS-7 Dusty Dogs helicopter squadron, he trained aboard aircraft carriers and spent time in South America. In 2005, along with his squadron, Drew played a critical role in airborne rescue missions in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
An athlete and avid sports enthusiast, Drew played football at Clinton High School and later at Milford High School where he was honored by his teammates, receiving the Unsung Hero Award. He enjoyed scuba diving and rugby, and was a member of the Jacksonville City Rugby Team.
Drew loved music, and above all, time spent with his older brother and best friend, Joey, and the countless concerts and hip-hop shows they attended together through the years
Petty Officer Second Class Andrew R. Bibbo died on Monday, May 7, 2007, while participating in a night search and rescue training mission in the Nevada desert.
