Represented by Rob Gronkowski and John Simon
United States Army Sergeant Benjamin W. Sherman was born on June 12, 1988, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where he played football for the Plymouth South Youth Jaguars football team, and where his daughter, Skylah, now cheerleads.
Benjamin was assigned to 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He served two tours in Afghanistan.
Ben had to love the Patriots growing up as his best friend, Adam Travers', father is a huge Patriots fan – a "season ticket holder since 1977," kind of fan. It encouraged Ben to get in an uproar on game nights.
SGT Sherman went Missing in Action on November 4, 2009. After a 6-day search for his body, he was found on November 10, 2009, where he was pronounced Killed in Action.
Benjamin's wife Patricia was just 4 months pregnant when he lost his life. The best gift to Patricia and Skylah has been that Benjamin's story is shared in two books: Level Zero Heroes: The Story of U.S. Marine Special Operations in Bala Murghab, and Dagger 22: U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations in Bala Murghab. These books will be there to teach Skylah what a true American Hero her father was and to know his memory and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
