Represented by Adrian Clayborn, Shaq Mason, and Deron Mayo
United States Army Sergeant Shane Padraig Duffy was born on June 22, 1985, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and grew up in Taunton, Massachusetts, graduating from Taunton High School in 2003. Shane was a proud Tauntonian and lifelong Patriots fan and football player. Showing his true dedication and just what type of person he was, Shane played through a full football game at Taunton High School with a broken collar bone.
He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division based out of Fort Drum, New York.
SGT Shane Padraig Duffy was killed in action on June 4, 2008, serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using small-arms fire and hand grenades.
Shane lived to make his friends and family laugh and to keep them smiling. SGT Duffy loved his family and friends like no other especially his wife, Jamie Duffy, and his beautiful daughter, Mackenzie Duffy, who was only months old when her father paid the ultimate sacrifice. Now Mackenzie is a thriving athlete, just like her parents, and always remembering her dad.
SGT Duffy was a proud Boston native and Irishman who always represented and cheered for the Patriots and Red Sox.
