Bill was very community oriented and was a volunteer Police Officer with the Rockland Massachusetts Police Department. He also volunteered with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots, and also participated in the clean-up efforts in Florida after Hurricane Ivan.
He was sworn in as a United States Marine on November 10, 1997, and went on to serve two tours in Iraq and received many awards and medals for his demonstration of uncommon resolve to persevere in the face of grave danger. He was an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal/Bomb Squad), and was highly respected in his field, being named EOD of the Year in 2006; an award he was extremely proud of!
Bill was also Team Leader for the EOD Operations on United States Secret Service Missions in support of the President of the United States.
