PRIME TIME PATRIOTS

The Patriots will travel to the Meadowlands this Monday and play the Jets on Monday Night Football. This will be the fourth consecutive year the Patriots and Jets have met in a prime-time match-up.

In addition, the Patriots will be showcased in two other prime time games during the regular season. For the first time in 16 years and just the second time in franchise history, the New England Patriots will play on Thanksgiving Day. The game will be played in Detroit against the Lions on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000. The Patriots only other appearance on Thanksgiving was against the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 22, 1984 (Cowboys won, 20-17). New England will also appear in one other Monday night game, when they host the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 4. It is the third time in the last four years they have been selected to appear on at least two Monday Night games and the fourth consecutive season that they have been featured in multiple prime time games.
