New England kicker Adam Vinatieri was honored for his accuracy against Buffalo, getting the nod as the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week Tuesday.
Vinatieri made all four of his field goal attempts and provided all of the Patriots scoring in the 12-9 victory over the Bills. His kicks were from distances of 40, 32, 25 and 23 yards. Vinatieri also added a special teams tackle, his fourth of the season. On the year Vinatieri has made 21-of-27 field goals and 34-of-35 extra points.
Vinatieri is the third Patriot to win player of the week honors. Quarterback Tom Brady (Weeks 5 and 11) and wide receiver David Patten have each been the Offensive Player of the Week this season.
