What Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are eating on vacation in Costa Rica

Tom Brady and his family are spending vacation surfing and eating raw.

When Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen go on vacation, it isn't lounging lazily on the beach with chips and ice cream cones.

As if you're surprised.

Instead of indulging on vacation, as many do, New England's favorite couple sticks with their famously strict diet.

Chef Joanne Gerrard Young, who cooks for Tom and Gisele at their home in Costa Rica, recently told Well and Good magazine that the pair eats mostly raw while soaking in the sun.

"They don't always do raw, but since it's so easy to do in Costa Rica, we do 80/20 raw diet, with big colorful salads and lots of fresh veggies," Joanne said. "'G' likes to eat vegetarian sometimes, so we'll do a grain separate from the protein, and she's totally into juice cleanses, so she'll do about one per year."

Though Joanne didn't reveal whether or not she prepares Tom’s “treat” of avocado ice cream, she did say they were open to try some of her desserts – all healthy, of course.

"They didn't want to do desserts anymore, for healthy eating purposes, but I shared all of my raw vegan desserts with them and they love them and have them all the time," she said.

Their healthy, plant-focused diet has been fueling them enough to test the waters in Costa Rica. Literally. TMZ posted pictures of Tom and Gisele surfing in great form.

Despite a post on Facebook saying cliff jumping would be Tom's vacation activity, all signs say surfing will be the most extreme things get. You can exhale now, fans.
