Steven Grogan tossed a 38-yard TD pass to Russ Francis, a 58-yard TD pass to Darryl Stingley, and scored on a six-yard run.

Oct. 19, 1986. Patriots 34, Steelers 0The Patriots beat the Steelers in back-to-back meetings for the first time following a 28-23 victory in 1983. It also marked the only time in the 40-plus year history of the series that either team was held scoreless. New England sacked Pittsburgh QB Bubby Brister five times and intercepted him twice, including a 37-yard pick-six by Fred Marion. Steve Grogan passed for three TDs.

Patriots 28, Steelers 3, AFC Divisional RoundNew England snapped a five-game losing streak and did so in the first playoff meeting between the teams on an especially foggy day in Foxboro. Curtis Martin had touchdown runs of 2, 78 and 23 yards, and finished with a Patriots postseason rushing record of 166 yards. Fellow RB Keith Byars added a34-yard touchdown reception.

Jan. 27, 2002. Patriots 24, Steelers 17, AFC ChampionshipThe Patriots scored in a variety of ways to punch their third ticket to the Super Bowl. Troy Brown returned a punt 55 yards for a score, Antwan Harris returned a blocked field goal 49 yards for a TD, and Drew Bledsoe – subbing for an injured Tom Brady – tossed a TD pass to David Patten, while the Patriots picked off Steelers QB Kordell Stewart three times.
