Players to Watch: Patriots vs. Jets
Patriots.com's Mike Dussault shares his players to watch ahead of the Patriots Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets.

Mac Jones, QB: The roller coaster ride continued for Mac in his sixth NFL start, with the most dramatic end yet, taking the Dallas Cowboys to overtime. Jones' downfield passing stood out even in defeat, highlighted by a 75-yard touchdown connection with Kendrick Bourne. Last time vs. the Jets, Jones threw for 186 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions to get the first win of his career. He'll be looking to continue his progression in the first rematch of the season.

Hunter Henry, TE: Henry has touchdowns in three-straight games but was quiet down the stretch against the Cowboys as the Patriots couldn't quite pull out a victory. The athletic tight end is quickly becoming one of Mac's favorite targets and he'll be looking for a better output against the Jets than he had in Week 2 with two catches for 42 yards.

Kendrick Bourne, WR: Bourne was right in the thick of it during the Cowboys game, seeing a target go off his fingertips and into the waiting hands of Trevon Diggs who returned the interception for a deflating pick-six. But on the first play of the next possession, Bourne burned Diggs with a double move and caught the biggest touchdown pass of the season to give New England back the lead. Just how good can Bourne be in the Patriots offense? He'll have his opportunities against the Jets.

Matthew Judon, OLB: Against the Cowboys Judon was held without a sack for the first time since Week 1, but still recorded a season-high six total tackles. The Patriots will need Judon to be his usual pass-rushing self against the Jets, where pressure can quickly result in turnovers by their rookie quarterback. Judon has been the best defensive player in New England this season.

Christian Barmore, DL: Barmore has been a bright spot on the defensive front that is mostly loaded with veterans. His infusion of youth and energy has been welcome, as his motor and strength are consistently a problem for opposing linemen. Barmore is quickly emerging with three-down potential and looks like a second-round steal for the Patriots. He'll be looking to get in Zach Wilson's face.

Zach Wilson, QB: Wilson has thrown at least one interception in each of his first five games and is hoping the bye week gave him a chance to reset on his ball security. His live arm continues to be a worry though, as his weaponry is getting healthy, and he continues to be fearless when throwing downfield. A close game could quickly get turned upside down with Wilson's playmaking ability.

Michael Carter, RB: Carter is a promising rookie running back who runs hard and can catch. He's starting to stack a pretty good debut season, with 47 rushes for 165 yards and nine catches for 64 yards. He's a balanced threat that can cause problems in different ways for the Patriots defense.

Jamison Crowder, WR: The reliable slot receiver is back after missing the first three games of the season. In two games back, he has 11 catches for 85 yards and a touchdown. He gives Wilson an inside threat that he didn't have the first time around against the Patriots. He should provide a boost to their offense.

John Franklin-Myers, DL: The impressive defensive lineman earned himself a contract extension this season with a strong start, earning praise from Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels during the week. He's second on the team with three sacks and will present a difficult challenge for the Patriots offensive line, which has been battling significant injuries for the last two weeks.

Quinnen Williams, DL: The other major part of a disruptive and high-energy defensive line, Williams leads the team with 3.5 sacks and eight quarterback hits. The Patriots re-jiggered offensive line will need to keep Williams out of the backfield and not let him force Mac Jones into hurried throws and the mistakes that come with them.
