Sept. 29, 1974. Patriots 20, Rams 14
Jim Plunkett fired a couple of 20-yard touchdown passes – one to Darryl Stingley, the other to Randy Vataha – and the Patriots defense forced five turnovers to win the inaugural game against the Rams at Schaefer Stadium. Arthur Moore aided the win, blocking a 31-yard field goal attempt.

Nov. 16, 1980. Rams 17, Patriots 14
A one-yard rushing touchdown by Elvis Peacock in the third quarter gave the Rams a 17-14 lead they held onto for their first win against the Patriots in Foxboro. After forcing five turnovers in their first meeting six years earlier, the Patriots turned the ball over five times in this one. Steve Grogan was intercepted twice.

Dec. 11, 1983. Patriots 21, Rams 7
The Rams struck first on Vince Ferragamo's 46-yard first quarter touchdown pass to George Farmer, but the Patriots responded with three unanswered Mosi Tatupu touchdowns runs in the subsequent three quarters. Tatupu scored from four yards in the second quarter, five yards in the third and seven yards in the fourth, giving New England its first win at Anaheim Stadium.

Nov. 16, 1986. Patriots 28, Rams 23
The Patriots completed a stunning 12-point fourth quarter comeback when Irving Fryar hauled in a 25-yard pass from Tony Eason on the game's final play at Anaheim Stadium. Irving scored on a six-yard catch earlier in the quarter. Eason completed 36 passes for 52 yards despite being sacked five times.

Dec. 24, 1989. Rams 24, Patriots 20
The Patriots came back from a 17-3 third-quarter deficit thanks to Irving Fryar's 47-yard TD catch, John Stephen's four-yard TD run and a 48-yard field goal by Jason Staurovsky to take a 20-17 lead. But Greg Ball, who rushed 26 times for 210 yards, scored on a three-yard TD run in the fourth quarter to give the Rams the win and a wildcard berth.

Sept. 13, 1992. Rams 14, Patriots 0
The Patriots were on the wrong side of the only shutout in the series. After a scoreless first half, RB Cleveland Gary ran for two short touchdowns. The Rams defense did the rest, picking off four passes by QB Hugh Millen and sacking him seven times.

Dec. 13, 1998. Rams 32, Patriots 18
Adam Vinatieri's fourth field goal of the game provided the Patriots with an 18-17 lead, but Az-Zahir Hakim ran for the go-ahead 34-yard touchdown and June Henley added an insurance TD, his second score of the game. Robert Edwards rushed 24 times for 196 yards in a losing effort for the Pats.

Nov. 18, 2001. Rams 24, Patriots 17.
Kurt Warner threw for 401 yards and three touchdown and the Rams intercepted Tom Brady twice to win a hard-fought game in Foxboro, one in which St. Louis coach Mike Martz declared afterward that the Patriots are a "Super Bowl caliber team." Those word proved prophetic a little over two months later, as Brady let the Patriots to final second upset win in Super Bowl XXXVI.




Feb. 3, 2002. Patriots 20, Rams 17, Super Bowl XXXVI
The Patriots captured their first world championship with a thrilling and unforgettable upset victory over the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI, as Tom Brady led a 9-play, 53-yard drive over the final 1:21 that culminated with Adam Vinatieri's 48-yard field goal as time expired. Brady, returning from an injury in the AFC Championship the week before, threw for a TD and Ty Law had a pick six as the Patriots, who were famously introduced as a team out of the tunnel, dethroned "The Greatest Show On Turf."

Nov. 7, 2004. Patriots 40, Rams 22
Adam Vinatieri beat the Rams with his leg in Super Bowl XXXVI, and this time, he used his arm. Vinatieri hit four field goals and threw a TD pass on a fake FG attempt to Troy Brown. Corey Dillon ran for 112 yards and a touchdown and LB Mike Vrabel caught a touchdown pass from Tom Brady, as New England, which led 19-14 at the half, pulled away after the break.


Oct. 26, 2008. Patriots 23, Rams 16
Matt Cassel's 15-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Faulk with 3:13 to go snapped a 16-all tie and gave the Patriots. St. Louis reached New England's 38-yard line on its final drive, but Deltha O'Neal picked off Marc Bulger to seal the victory with just over a minute to play. Adalius Thomas had two of New England's four sacks.



Oct. 28, 2012. Patriots 45, Rams 7.
The Patriots put on a show for their UK Patriot fans, winning in convincing fashion at Wembley Stadium in London. The Rams scored the first touchdown before New England exploded for 45 unanswered points. Brandon Lloyd caught two touchdown pass, Rob Gronkowski added another, and Tom Brady finished 23-of-35 for 304 yards and four TDs.




Dec. 4, 2016. Patriots 26, Rams 10.
The Patriots honored the 2001 Super Bowl team that upset the Rams 15 years earlier and gave the home crowd at Gillette Stadium even more to reason to cheer with a win that wasn't as close as the final score indicated. Stephen Gostkowski kicked four field goals and the Patriots sacked then rookie QB Jared Geoff four times and picked him off twice. Tom Brady became the all-time leader in wins after winning his 201st game.
