Throwback Photos: Patriots on “Thursday Night Football,” presented by Empower
Playing on a short week hasn't been too much of a problem for the Patriots. Since the league began its Thursday night scheduling in 2006, the Patriots are 7-1 and have won their last six games. The gallery denotes only designated "TNF" games, not all games the Patriots have played on a Thursday, such as "Prime Time" or Thanksgiving Day/Night games.

– The first overtime game in Thursday Night Football history didn't go the Patriots way. Matt Cassel threw a 16-yard TD pass to Randy Moss with one second left in regulation to tie the game, but Jay Feely hit a 34-yard field goal in OT to give New York a 34-31 win at Gillette Stadium.

– Aaron Dobson caught a 39-yard TD pass from Tom Brady in the first quarter and Aqib Talib picked off Geno Smith near midfield in the final minute to preserve the Patriots 13-10 win. Talib finished with two interceptions. It was a fitting defensive performance on a night when the Patriots honored recent Hall of Fame inductee Tedy Bruschi at halftime.

– Patriots kicker Nick Folk, then with the New York Jets, had his 58-yard field goal attempt blocked by Chris Jones on the final play of the game, securing New England's 27-25 win. Share Vereen caught two Tom Brady's three touchdown passes and Danny Amendola caught the other. The Patriots honored recent Hall of Fame inductee Ty Law at halftime.

Rob Gronkowski proved larger than life. The Patriots tight end, who posed in front of a titular ice sculpture in Patriot Place before the game, caught a 47-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter as part of a six-catch, 117-yard effort in a 36-7 win over Miami. Tom Brady finished with four TD passes, including a pair to Julian Edelman in the fourth quarter. At halftime, the Patriots had a ceremony honoring recent team Hall of Famer Willie McGinest.

– With Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo out, third-string and rookie QB Jacoby Brissett delivered in a big way, rushing for a 27-yard touchdown in a 27-0 win over the Texans. LeGarrett Blount shouldered part of the load as well, running for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Among those in attendance for the shutout win in Foxboro was The Blue Man Group.

– In only their fifth visit to Tampa since the Bucs became a franchise in 1976, the Patriots – donning all white jerseys – came away with a close 19-14 win, thanks to four field goal by Stephen Gostkowski, including a 48-yarder that gave New England a five-point lead with 1:10 to go. Tampa got inside the red zone in the final seconds, but Jonathan Jones defended Jameis Winston's pass intended for O.J. Howard on the Bucs' final play. Chris Hogan caught eight passes for 74 yards and a TD.

– Josh Gordon caught Tom Brady's 500th career touchdown pass and Sony Michel ran for 98 yards and a score, propelling the Patriots to a 38-24 win over the Colts. Brady threw for three scores and rushed for another on a one-yard sneak. Jonathan Jones and Patrick Chung both picked off passes in the final game between the Pats and Indy QB Andrew Luck

– The Patriots scored in all three phases, beginning with Chase Winovich's six-yard return for a touchdown off a blocked punt by Brandon Bolen, in a 35-14 win over the Giants. Kyle Van Noy returned a fumble 22 yards for a touchdown and Tom Brady had a pair of one-yard touchdown runs.
