HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (May 5, 2005) -- Ricky Ray, the third-string quarterback last year, was released by the New York Jets.
Also cut were Leonard Henry and tight end Joshua Norman.
Ray, a 6-3, 210-pound former CFL quarterback out of Sacramento State, was signed by the Jets as a free agent Feb. 27, 2004. He dressed as the third QB three times during the 2004 regular season, but did not see game action.
Henry, a 6-1, 210-pound running back out of East Carolina, was signed by the Jets on April 6 after three years with the Miami Dolphins. Norman, who played at Oklahoma, was signed as a free agent on Feb. 1.
All three players participated in the club's minicamp last weekend.
