Banquet Cooks will prepare high quality meals and banquet food for all suite, club and catered events. To accomplish this, Banquet Cooks will cook, prepare, and plate food with attention to detail and excellence. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the understanding and proper preparation of recipes
- Provide appropriate direction to Banquet Prep Cook(s) based on requirements and timelines
- Efficient retrieval of food from refrigerator and freezer to kitchen using proper handling techniques
- Identification and preparation of appropriate menu items for future events
- Responsible for food storage and inventory
- Assist in closing the down kitchen; including the cleaning of all dirty equipment and properly storing kitchen items
- Other duties as requiredQualifications:
- Minimum three years of professional catering experience
- Experience baking, broiling, frying and grilling
- Knowledge of kitchen knife handling skills
- Knowledge of how to operate large kitchen machinery
- Must be 18 years of age
- Read and understand instructions in basic English
- Comprehend verbal instructions in basic English
- Speak and communicate in basic English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
- Ability to safely maneuver up and down flights of stairs/steps, repetitively
- Ability to maneuver within work spaces
- Ability to briefly operate in a refrigerated room
- Ability to work on multiple tasks
- Ability to work independent of direct supervision
- Ability to fulfill mandated work hours
