Belichick responds to Mallett trade report

Bill Belichick didn't seem pleased when asked about reports of a potential trade of backup quarterback Ryan Mallett.

Prior to the start of the 2014 NFL Draft on Thursday CSNNE.com reported that the Patriots were in trade discussions revolving around sending backup quarterback Ryan Mallett to Houston.

The site later backtracked on the initial report, although various other national outlets seemed to lend credence to the rumors that New England might ship the fourth-year former third-round pick to the Texans.

Bill Belichick was asked during his press conference after the first round of the draft whether he'd had discussions about a possible trade for Mallett.

His tone and response seemed to indicate pretty clearly that he wasn't too happy with the reports.

"Why don't you talk to whoever wrote the story? Since that person has all the answers, go talk to them," Belichick said.
