CINCINNATI (Dec. 11, 2005) -- Bengals running back Chris Perry hurt his left ankle on a first-quarter run Sunday and was taken off the field on a cart.
The extent of the injury wasn't immediately known. Perry was taken for X-rays.
The second-year running back provides a change-up to starter Rudi Johnson, who is best at running between the tackles. Perry, a first-round draft pick last season, excels at catching the ball and getting outside on runs.
Perry got into the game on the Bengals' second series against Cleveland, and carried on three straight plays. His right ankle twisted on the third carry.
