Bengals re-sign defensive lineman Powell

The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed defensive lineman Carl Powell to a one-year contract.

CINCINNATI (April 5, 2005) -- The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed defensive lineman Carl Powell to a one-year contract.

Powell played in 10 games for the Bengals last season, missing six games because of injury. He played in each of the last five games with two starts and helped clinch a victory against the New York Giants with his first career interception.

Powell, who is in his seventh season and third with the Bengals, finished the season with 34 tackles, including two sacks, and one forced fumble.
