Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and new New England slot receiver Danny Amendola have begun working out together this weekend in California.
Amendola indicated in comments last week that he expected to begin catching passes from No. 12 soon, and that began on Tuesday according to a Twitter photo from current USC wide receivers coach and former University of Tennessee quarterback Tee Martin.
Interestingly, Martin was actually drafted ahead of Brady in the 2000 NFL Draft, going in the fifth round to the Steelers. Martin was with the Steelers, Eagles and Raiders, as well as the CFL, before he retired in 2005. He was highlighted in the ESPN documentary "The Brady 6" which looked back at the six quarterbacks drafted ahead of the future Hall of Famer Brady in the 2000 draft.
Brady has worked out in the offseason in California over the years, often throwing with his receivers on college campuses like USC. Earlier this offseason reports indicated that tight end Aaron Hernandez would also be joining Brady for West Coast workouts.
