The Patriots opened their first and only mandatory mini-camp of the offseason minus one potentially important piece: wide receiver Deion Branch.
Branch, who is set to enter the final season of his five-year rookie contract signed in 2002, is reportedly seeking an extension. He skipped the Patriots Charitable Foundation Golf Tournament yesterday, which is required of all veterans, and was not with the team as they took the field Tuesday morning for the first of five practices open to the media over a three-day span.
It is unknown if Branch is officially holding out at this time. Check back for more details on this story to follow.
